Tortula handelii var. handelii (Musci, Pottiaceae) dans la haute vallee du Verdon et Fissidens kosaninii (Musci, Fissidentaceae) a Meounes-ies-Montrieux, respectivement nouveaux pour la bryoflore des Alpes-de-Haute-Provence et du sud de la France

Discovery of a second French station of Tortula handelii Schiffn var handelii at the Petit Coyer (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), on a limestone rock face (north-west aspect) at an altitude of 2220 m is presented. The occurrence of this continental speciesin the southern Alps is confirmed, which contributes to fill a gap between the localities of Asia Minor and North Africa, Fissidens kosaninii Latz , a moss with a Mediterranean-Atlantic distribution limited to Europe, had never been recorded from southern France. Near the Montrieux-le-Teune abbey (Gapeau valley, department Var), at 280 m elevation, it is abundant on tufa deposited in a shaded and humid channel. Ecological conditions are stated and lists of bryophytes associated with both rarities ate given.
