摘要

The reduction in the use of pesticides and synthetic regulators on the horticultural production will allow the production of innocuous crops with a better nutritional quality. Conferring natural resistance in the plants is an alternative to reach such an objective. Several compounds have been reported in the literature as inductors of resistance. Different mechanisms, viz growth inhibition of pathogens, production of phytoalexins, activation of genes of resistance, and systemic acquired resistance are involved in the natural resistance process. There are various alternatives to the use of organic pesticides like oligosaccharides, oligomers of pectin and oligomers of chitin and chitosan.
