Pre-humidification of Compressed Gas Mixtures for Use in Large Scale Hepatocyte Spheroid Culture

We have developed a new hepatocyte culturing bioreactor that incorporates a gas exchange membrane in its design. Having a gas exchange membrane incorporated into the bioreactor allows us to control the oxygen concentration in the cell suspension. We have demonstrated that the partial pressure of oxygen (pO_2) in the cell culture medium has a significant influence on the long term viability of the hepatocyte culture.
