Spotsealing Improves C-130J Service Life

With a production history spanning over 50 years, Lockheed Martin's C-130 transport aircraft has proven itself to be a versatile and extremely reliable airlift platform. The C-130's well-deserved reputation for mission success under adverse service conditions has positioned the aircraft as the cornerstone of many a customer's military airlift capability. To ensure the C-130's continuing legacy as the benchmark aircraft in its class, Lockheed Martin implements product improvements on a continuous basis. Although the end goal of "improvements" frequently lies in enhanced aircraft performance, more-subtle enhancements are likewise incorporated in an effort to reduce maintenance intervals and extend component service life.
