While most people know Portugal for its history of exploration and its fortified port wines, those who work in engineering-based manufacturing will also be aware of the growing reputation of Portuguese companies for supplying press tools to the world's best-known automotive manufacturers. Aveiro-based PJ Ferramentas is a good example of such a company. Like many tool makers, PJF has diversified into other areas, thereby building up a strong base of engineering knowledge.
