In advance of the Chicago Symposium, I would like to thank my fellow instructors Georges Kopp of McGill University and Rick Gerhart of the California Institute of Technology for their unselfish donation of time and for their dedication to the Regular Member teaching program. We all enjoy teaching as well as sharing ideas and techniques with everyone who is enrolled in the program. For this year's Seminars, Friedrich & Dim-mock has donated the necessary glass tubing and Art Ramirez of Universal Instrument Company has supplied the lathe we will be using. Their generous support is greatly appreciated. Also, Brian Schwandt, the Workshops Chair, and Joe Gregar, the Symposium Chair, have done a great job coordinating all the technical logistics needed to conduct our program.
