Coventry sub-contractor Cam-Tech Engineering has increased its turnover every year for the past decade, but the company's rate of growth has accelerated since 2008 due to the installation of three five-axis machining centres that are used extensively to produce brake and clutch components for luxury, high-performance and specialised cars. Founded in Shannon by John Bolger in 1998, Cam-Tech originally specialised in machining aircraft components - mainly for Boeing and Gardner Aerospace. The company moved from Ireland to Coventry one year later, but aerospace contracted shortly afterwards. Mindful that this sector accounted for 80% of his company's turnover at the time, Mr Bolger moved into producing parts for sports cars and other top-end road vehicles.
