A Mini Diamond Cutter for Glass Tubing

Description of a miniature glass tube cutter used for cutting different diameter glass tubing and glass rods, from 2mm o.d. up to 22 mm o.d. It would be a mistake or it is wrong to call this mini cutter a diamond cutting machine. The actual operation, to be more precise, is the scoring of the glass tubing or rod, then wetting the nick before you separate the two thus applying the same technique as if you were to score a tube with a tungsten carbide cutter or knife. Before starting the cutting, prepare a wet sponge in front of the machine, measure the length of tube to be cut and secure the stop. Then place the glass tube or rod in the 25 mm X 25 mm profiled aluminium to test the amount of diamond wheel protruding from the slot by viewing along the length of the 25 mm X 25 mm angle aluminium. The amount of pressure against the glass can be regulated with the adjustment screw depending on the diameter of the tubing.
