ASGS Members, Most of you do not know me, and, as this is my first year of membership in the Society that is not surprising. Although my list of contacts is short and my knowledge of politics and conduct even less extensive, I have taken on the duties of Technical Papers Chair for the 2008 National Symposium in Atlantic City. Through some research and discussions with long-time members, I have decided to let a Past President and two-time Technical Papers Chair do some of the speaking for me. What follows is an excerpt from Wilbur C. Mateyka's call for technical papers which I think sums up the situation quite well and is reprinted here with his permission.
