James L. Lane, II

James Lane died on March 22 from a thoracic aneurysm at age 79. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on January 24, 1927. Fearing he would miss WW II, Jim provided a new birth date allowing him into the Navy underage. He served from 1945 to 1946, mostly on Tinian Island, where he made friends with a Japanese naval commander who taught him photography and photo developing, which he enjoyed all his life.
