MATERIALS - Stabilized trichlorethylene (Blacosolv or equivalent). Anhydrous alcohol (isopropanol, synasol or equivalent). EQUIPMENT - Vapor degreaser, with ultrasonic agitator; basket or holder for .parts; beaker or tank of alcohol rinse; hot air blower. PROCEDURE - (1) Mechanically remove any visible deposit of grease or dirt. (2) Hold part in trichlorethylene vapor until no further condensation occurs. (3) Immerse in distilled trichlorethylene unless specified otherwise. Use ultrasonic agitation, moving the part about in the ultrasonic field until all surfaces have been ultrasonically scrubbed. (4) Hold part in vapor until no further condensation occurs. (5) Hold part in top section of degreaser, above vapor line, until dry. (6) Rinse thoroughly with anhydrous alcohol.
