We are now in the process of planning the Allan B. Brown Glassblowing Seminars for the 2017 Symposium in Austin, Texas. It looks like it is going to be a great show. What is the goal of the Allan B. Brown Glassblowing Seminars? To teach our members techniques in scientific glassblowing that will elevate their skills to a higher level. This year's Seminar is going to include one bench project and one lathe project, with an emphasis on "tricks of the trade" and "efficiency." We want to keep the focus on the "why and how" certain things are done, not just because that was the way you were told or taught to do them. Ultimately, our objective is to give the glassblower a better understanding of what he or she is doing.
