Optical cells used in atomic magnetometers often require AR coatings on both the inner and outer surfaces of these cells to reduce laser scattering. Anodic bonding is described as a preferable means of constructing small optical borosilicate cells that require AR coatings. Examples of its advantages are detailed in the use of a Multi-pass Magnetometer and in small micro cells.
