Mechatronics in agricultural machinery/Pottinger receives innovation award for SERVO intelligent

Agricultural machinery is being revolutionised through the advent of mechatronics. New systems relieve farmers of demanding control tasks, offer a higher level of convenience, increase working speed, improve ploughing quality, and reduce operating costs. Pottinger Maschinenfabrik GesmbH, manufacturers of agricultural machinery, co-operated with mechatronics experts from the University of Linz to design a new generation of ploughs - the SERVO intelligent electronic plough. For this product, the mechanical engineering company, based in Upper Austrian Grieskirchen, was awarded the Innovation Prize 2002 by the Province of Upper Austria.
