A successful pipe symposium in Vienna

Cincinnati Extrusion GmbH welcomed more than 400 guests to a two-day pipe symposium it staged in Vienna in late April. The large turnout was proof of just how compelling Cineinnati is in regularly delivering innovation to its customers. The keen interest also reflected the significance of pipes throughout the world for use in conveying gas and sewage, for eable protection or for floor healers. In collaboration with the companies AMI, Atofina, Baerlocher, Siea, Solvin and Tra-maco, the Austrian machine builder covered a balanced and extensive mix of topics ranging from materials to machine components. According lo the market research firm AMI, some 2.57 million tons of plastics are used annually for the production of pipes. This sector is expected to grow by an annual 2.6% up to the year 2005. Further advances in the pipe sector can be observed in multi-layer and PEX pipes for hot water applications, co-ex-truded pipes for a variety of applications and modified PVC types and PE 100 for pressure pipes.
