While CNC (computer numerical control) technology has become indispensable to companies in the metalworking sector, the wood-working industry continues to rely on traditional machinery. None but the largest companies benefit from the flexibility of numerically controlled equipment. Why is that so? "No two parts are alike in my workshop!" or "By the time I have keyed in all the information, I could have done it manually just as well!" are among the arguments heard most frequently, but they will not convince EMCO. EMCO approaches the issue of "CNC for wood-working" from the practical point of view-without long-winded theoretical introductions, without letter codes. As if simply filling in a form, the user is guided from step to step on the screen-in clearly readable text. The result of every entry is instantly displayed on the monitor. Dowel and hinge bores, roller shutter grooves, rows of holes and moulding contours are shown true to scale. Finished work-pieces are stored and can be turned, blown up or reduced in size any time through the "variant programming" software package. Whatever appears on the screen will be finished in no time. It is as simple as that!
