Efficient Recycling of Construction and Demolition Debris with Scheuch Downpipe-Type Air Classifier

Recycling mixed construction and demolition debris is a good way to conserve natural resources and protect the environment, Scheuch, Austria's specialist in air technology systems, has developed an air classifier for efficient, cost-effective separation and recycling of this valuable material. The reprocessing of construction and demolition debris is becoming more and more important all the time, not least because of the increasingly strict regulations governing it. Scheuch has created an air-operated recycling system which is right in step with this trend. The new air classifier is part of a C&D recycling plant in which the recylables are crushed, presorted and freed of ferrous material by magnetic separation. The material, separated into two fractions (10/30 and 30/80), is then conveyed via vibrating chutes into downpipes. At the same time, a current of air is blown into these downpipes in the opposite direction, separating the light fraction from the high quality stone.
