The calendar year of 1995 was a banner year for mink production according to annual statistics released July 23 by USDA's National, Agricultural Statistics service. Mink pelt production in the United States in 1995 totaled 2 69 million pelts, up seven percent from 1994. Wisconsin, the major mink producing state, produced 676,000 pelts.
