The year-long assault by buyers to take fur prices to record levels continued in May during sales held by North American Fur Auctions and the Seattle Fur Exchange, Both houses experienced spirited bidding as international buyers, led by Koreans, competed heavily for quality goods. Events got underway May 6 in New York with NAFA offering a collection of over 1,000,000 ranch mink and fox combined with a large collection of wild furs. Over 200 international buyers were on hand for day one, including over 40 Korean companies. Attendance from Hong Kong and Japan was the largest seen in recent years.
