Microloc system cuts machining times and costs at Parker Hannifin

A series of ten Microloc workholding Systems from WDS, supplied to Parker Hannifin's Cannock facility, have allowed complicated system components to be machined over fifteen times faster. The units are now used to hold over 100 different aluminium components and have allowed Parker Hannifin to avoid the need for outsourcing. With the increased competition and continuous demands for cost reductions in most industry areas, the trend for outsourcing manufacturing of all types of components is rapidly increasing. However, as Parker Hannifin has found, investment in the right machinery and workholding technology can improve machined product quality and lead times without necessarily increasing cost.
