摘要

Within the framework of renormalized two parameter theory we analyze data on dilute polymer solutions in good solvents. We find that the data support the structure of two universal branches, which recently has been exhibited theoretically and in Monte Carlo simulations. In particular, in contrast to the original interpretation of the data, we find no breakdown of two parameter theory due to stiffness corrections, which were claimed to vanish only slowly with increasing chain length. We also consider this claim from the theoretical point of view, explaining how renormalization takes care of these corrections. [References: 33]
