Shipyard Takes Advantage of Welding Automation to increase Productivity and Improve Weld Process

In this new era of shipbuilding, it is refreshing to see that new methods and technology are being embraced and employed, particularly by younger workers. These up-and-coming trades-people who are picking up new skills with ease are producing excellent results and offering competitive advantages to those companies willing to adopt modern processes. This has been done in part by continuous in-house training programs coupled with new technologies. A great example of how new methods are being used is at the Govan and Scotstoun Shipyards, where their workforce has just recently been receiving on-site training put together and run by trained professionals within the shipyards' workforce.
