Porphyrin Dendrimers with a Fullerene C_(60) in the Dendritic Branches

Porphyrin-dendrimers with a fullerene C_(60) in the dendritic branches were obtained by cyclization of dendritic bis-malonate derivatives at the carbon sphere. The bis-adducts of C_(60) were synthesized through a macrocyclization reaction with bismalonate derivatives in a double Bingel addition afforded the C_s-symmetric cis-2 bis-adducts. The resulting porphyrin bis-methanofullerene derivatives were characterized by IR, ~1H and ~(13)C NMR, UV-VIS absorption, electrospray (ES) and/or MALDI-TOF mass spectrometries.
