News that the Scottish government would allow householders to upgrade their oil boilers under the Green Homes Cashback Fund* was welcomed by OFTEC. The move contradicts the stance taken in May by England and Wales where a similar Green Deal Home Improvement Fund excludes properties using oil heating; applying only to those with gas-fired boilers. Reacting immediately to this decision, OFTEC wrote to 232 MPs representing rural constituencies across England and Wales. Both schemes went live last month.
