THE PURSUIT OF BIOFUELS IS hardly new.Henry Ford planned to have his Model T run on ethanol.The U.S.government's first ethanol-producing plant opened in Kansas 70 years ago.Trouble was,oil was easily obtainable and cheap,and the fuel value of gasoline far outweighed that of ethanol in the decades before anybody worried about greenhouse gases and global warming.
