NPRA's Name Change to AFPM

A number of people have asked me why the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association (NPRA) has changed its name to the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM). The answer is that our new name - adopted January 25 - helps us better explain to the American people the vital role our members play in American manufacturing, job creation and economic and national security.This is our fourth name change since the association was founded in 1902 as the National Petroleum Association, at a time when the auto industry was in its infancy and before the airline industry was even born.
