Val Venosta has always been a special fruit-growing area. Is the extreme altitude in conjunction with the microclimate prevailing here beneficial for organic cultivation? The Val Venosta apple orchard spreads out to the west of Merans in the directionof the Resia pass at an altitude of 500 to more than 1,100 m above sea level. The temperature variations between day and night allow the fruits to ripen more slowly, making them rich in natural fructose and giving them firm, juicy flesh and their characteristic colouring. This is true for all apples produced in Val Venosta.
