IPM is more than window dressing. When properly carried out, it should generate real financial benefit through a reduction of the pesticide inputs and increased yields. The basis for a grower to reach these benefits include knowledge about pesticides,application methods, scouting and biological agents. But this is not as common as it should be. The information on the pesticide bottle for example is often misunderstood, resulting in too high pesticide applications.
