A new pruning method for living branches

摘要

A new pruning method for living branches having a thin collar without ingrowing bark in the fork was developed and put into practice on a total of 45 young Quercus robur (of 20 years) and Prunus avium trees (of 15 years). Positive results were archieved in the case of more than 80 percent of the branches treated. The new pruning method, which is easy to apply, seems to be very promising and is suitable for arboriculture, forestry and horticulture.
