Rapid Recall Exchange: System delivers product information anytime, anywhere

When travel becomes essential for industry personnel, smartphones come in handy. Updates are immediate and information can be passed along at the blink of an eye — the industry leaders who created the Rapid Recall Exchange system four years ago knowthat firsthand. In 2009, GS1 US, the Food Marketing Institute and the Grocery Manufacturers Association joined forces to determine what information needed to be shared during a recall. Previous methods caused delays in notification, lacked much-needed clarity and frequently spread incorrect information, among other faults. The Rapid Recall Exchange system was developed to combat those issues.
