Food safety, warehousing and logistics top the list of hot topics on the minds of those in charge of managing the cold chain for fresh-cut produce. With recent product recalls and new federal regulations in the works, food safety is the topic that permeates most of the others, according to leaders of the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA). "Cold chain management plays a vital role in maintaining food safety. No matter what type of temperature-controlled commodity you produce, process, or sell, it mustbe stored and handled properly. This is true of frozen goods and fresh produce," said Corey Rosenbusch, president of GCCA.
