Methods of analyzing processes in forest offices in the bavarian forest service with focus on harvesting and sales

The Bavarian Institute of Forestry has been assigned with the task to implement a study on the processes employed by the forest offices in Bavaria. A methodology suitable for general use in the Bavarian Forest Service had to be developed. The emphasis of this study, conducted between April 1999 and June 2002, has been put on the process "harvesting and Sales". The project approach and the applied bottom-up method are described. Several methods known in the empirical social research carne to practical application.
