Columbia Gulf and Tennessee Would Abandon Louisiana On/Offshore Facilities

On 8/20/08, Columbia Gulf Transmission Co. and Tennessee Gas Pipeline Co. (Applicants) requested FERC's approval for abandonment of on/offshore facilities in Louisiana by the first quarter of 2009 in order to complete all necessary work prior to the advent of less favorable weather conditions for offshore construction activity later in the year. The facilities include a 25.1-mile looping segment of 36-inch pipeline in the Western Shoreline of the Blue Water System (also called Segment 5434 or the Western Shoreline Loop Line). Columbia Gulf owns two thirds of the Segment, while Tennessee owns the one third.
