COLUMBIA GAS SEEKS AUTHORITY FOR EARLY TERMINATION OF TRANSPORTATION SERVICE BY MUTUAL AGREEMENT WITH SHIPPER

Last week,Columbia Gas Transmission LLC(RP09-375)defended its proposal to provide for termination of an entire service agreement before its expiration date by mutual agreement with a shipper.As of 2007,Columbia(RP07-655)was authorized to renegotiate all or part of an existing service agreement.As in that earlier case,an early termination of service would have to be on a not unduly discriminatory basis.Columbia modeled its proposal on language approved for its affiliate Columbia Gulf Transmission Co.(RP09-33).(FNGR No.2720,p22)There were numerous interventions in this proceeding,but the Indicated Shippers alone raised concerns.
