U.S. Chamber of Commerce Defends Its Study and Assumptions That Did Not Match Basis of Administration’s New Clean Power Plan Unveiled This Week

There has been some fallout from the fast reaction of the U.S. Chamber’s Institute for 21st Century Energy to the Obama Administration’s Clean Power Plan even before the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) had unwrapped the package. The Chamber had issued a comprehensive analysis of the costs associated with potential EPA regulations (see adjacent article in this Foster Report). The analysis purportedly dissed the expected outcome of EPA’s rulemaking from a high cost standpoint. However, the Chamber was on the defensive this week.
