Oregon LNG and Pipeline Projects Facing Testy Landowners Seek Stay of Town Hall Meetings

LNG Development Company, LLC (CP09-6) (d/b/a/ Oregon LNG) and Oregon Pipeline Co., LLC (CP09-7) gave FERC notice earlier this month of their notice of intent (NOI) to participate, but under protest, in the Town Hall Meetings to be held regarding the Oregon Pipeline Project. The NOI was submitted "to preserve Oregon LNG's and Oregon Pipeline's procedural and substantive rights in the ... proceedings in accordance with the 1/25/10 order of the Deputy Chief Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) requesting that all interested parties submit an NOI on or before February 10." This NOI was submitted under protest in light of Oregon LNG's and Oregon Pipeline's pending motion for expedited relief filed on 2/5/10 requesting FERC to vacate a January 22 order of the Chief ALJ initiating the Town Hall Meetings at the request of the FERC Chairman and the January 25 order. Oregon LNG and Oregon Pipeline sought expedited relief from the Commission from the so-called Town Hall fact-finding proceeding "to prevent detriment to the public interest and denial of due process to Oregon LNG and Oregon Pipeline." In this regard, Oregon LNG and Oregon Pipeline requested that the ALJ reserve scheduling the meetings until after resolution of the pending motion.
