FERC Commissioners Spitzer and Norris Explain Their Votes in Northern Natural Rate Proceeding

Three FERC Commissioners voted 2-1 on 5/27/10 on the motion by the Northern Customer Group to terminate the Natural Gas Act (NGA) Section 5 investigation of Northern Natural Gas (RP10-148) before May 28, the date on which Northern threatened to file a general section 4 rate increase if the investigation was not terminated. As reported last week, FERC did terminate the RP10-148 enforcement docket, and Northern agreed to forego filing any increase in rates before 5/1/11. (FNGR No. 2798, pp25-27)
