Trunkline Gas Proposes Modifications to Isolate its South Texas Pipeline System in Order to Tap 'Wet' Gas Being Produced in the Eagle Ford Shale Area

Trunkline Gas Co. LLC (P11-19) on October 29 filed an application for a FERC certificate and abandonment permission in order to "isolate and modify" its existing South Texas System to provide bi-directional flow of unprocessed, liquids-rich ("wet") natural gas. With this application, Trunkline also is requesting authorizations to facilitate transportation of the increased volumes. Trunkline stated it seeks (1) to make certain minor modifications to its pipeline from the existing Edna Compressor Station in Jackson County, Texas, through Victoria, Goliad, Bee and San Patricio Counties to the terminus of its system in Jim Wells County, Texas; (2) to make minor modifications within the existing Edna and Beeville compressor station yards; (3) to change its FERC Gas Tariff including providing for new gas quality specifications (production in the South Texas area has become "extremely rich" and does not meet the quality specifications of Trunkline's tariff); and (4) to abandon certain facilities all in order to isolate the existing South Texas System, to facilitate bi-directional flow and to transport unprocessed raw gas.
