Joseph Kelliher (R) announced his resignation as Chairman of FERC effective on Inauguration Day, January 20, when Democrat Barack Obama will assume the presidency. Kelliher chaired the Commission for three and a half years and been a member for more than five. He could continue to serve as a Commissioner until 2012. Kelliher recused himself from FERC business as he explores "other career opportunities."
