Rotating filter systems (dynamic crossflow filtration) are increasingly applied in the past years in production, for process water treatment and in process-integrated environmental protection. One new application field is industrial wastewater treatment. In comparison with non-dynamic crossflow systems, there are five essential reasons for this: 1. Substantial specific energy savings of up to 80% can be realised. 2. Suspensions can be concentrated to high values in one system and in one step, which increases the profitability of the overall process. 3. High specific flow rates through effective self-cleaning during the filtration process reduce the amortisation periods. 4. All membranes and filter disks are visible and well accessible. This transparency ensures easy accessability, maintenance, and if required, direct replacement. 5. Long immobilisation times are possible because the system can work with low pressures.
