With the support of seventeen Republican cosponsors, Sen. Pete Domenici (R-N.M.), ranking member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, introduced legislation (S. 2958) on 5/1/08 to "dramatically increase" the domestic production of oil and natural gas offshore in the Outer Continental Shelf, in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), and in the West.
