摘要

TUNA farmers based off the coast of Port Lincoln, South Australia, are getting to grips with a regional pest thanks to an innovative research project. The southern bluefin tuna industry has been suffering economic losses due to silver gulls stealing feed from the fish cages. Shelley Harrison, a PhD student with Flinders University and Aquafin Cooperative Research Centre has estimated the resulting losses as being in the region of AU500,000 dollar.
