ACQUISITION OF BIOMIN BIOX TECHNOLOGY AND NEW WASTE-TO-ENERGY PLANT

Outotec (www.outotec.com) has successfully complet-ed the acquisition of the majority of shares in Biomin South Africa Pty. Ltd. and also certain assets from Biomin Technologies S.A. in Switzerland. Outotec got the full intellectual property and marketing rights of BIOX bio-oxidation technology. The acquisition price was not disclosed. Biomin’s BIOX bio-oxidation is a proven method for the pretreatment of refractory gold ores, and it complements Outotec’s portfolio of gold processing technologies.
