When I was an apprentice it was important to start accumulating a toolkit, and one of the first things an apprentice needed was a decent sized ball peen hammer. Every toolkit needs a hammer that can breakthings with ease, and so I bought a 48 ounce Snap-on model.I have a slight problem with hammers though - the fact that the hand I hold things with whilst bashing them is short of a thumb makes for interesting language when the remnants of said thumb get in the way. Hitting the end of my stubby thumb with anything is a recipe for a serving of unimaginable pain - the first time. Subsequent blows can lead to me losing my rag.
