Basic Husbandry: Farms should have a Veterinary Health Plan (VHP). Farmers should have written procedures to ensure staff notify the responsible manager immediately on suspicion of disease. Any person with fish under their care must notify FRS of thepresence of any notifiable disease. Mortalities should be removed and must be counted and recorded, and should be identified by cause. In the event of a disease outbreak they should be removed on a daily basis and disposed of in a manner that minimises the risk of spread of disease.
