The consideration of the recent history of rainbow trout production (Fish Farmer, August 2016) concluded with the view from the British industry that the main constraints on the sector's growth - both nationally and across the EU- are difficulty in obtaining appropriate sites and regulatory burdens, compounded by relatively low market prices and rising operating costs (the latter two issues combining to create an environment of slim profit margins).
