Forestry engineering: environment technology and women

Dr Mark Webb of Peak Ecology picked out the main elements of wildlife law and how it can impact on engineering in forests. Animals such as otters, dormice, water voles and goshawks can all be seen as constraints to forest operations, but a combinationof collecting information on what's there, forward planning and ensuring the machine operators are aware of the appropriate measures for dealing with wildlife, will reduce the impact on operations and cost.
