Vaki has been leading the development of counting and size estimation technologyin the aquaculture industry for over 25 years.As well as delivering hundreds of cutting-edge counters to hatcheries all over the world the company has further developed technology for use on wellboats - both for counting smolts and large fish when grading. The technology is also used on barges in Tasmania to count fish, when being treated for AGD, as they are pumped between cages.The counters are based on line-scanning camera and computer vision and the most important features are their capacity, accuracy and the fact that it is possible to validate every count with silhouette images of each fish.
