Forestry companies do not, as a rule, tend to work together very closely in the UK. Of course, there are a few shining examples of marketing co-ops: DWP Harvesting in Grampian is one and the Timber Marketing Group is another. Providing the scale of operation is a key function of these groups. However, co-operative working also offers real benefits for accessing new markets and for supplying low volumes of timber. I'm talking about woodfuel, of course. In fact I seem to talk about little else these days.
