MSD Animal Health UK's PD Monitor' mapping highlights pancreas disease strain distribution and reinforces the need for vaccination

To support producers in their efforts to maintain successful strategies to protect against pancreas disease in salmon, MSD Animal Health is continuing to monitor the occurrence and distribution of salmonid alaphavirus subtypes in the UK and Ireland. Using results and feedback from a significant percentage of key producers the data is providing an up to date picture of where strains of the virus have been identified as well as confirming that vaccination programmes are proving effective in protectingsalmon from the disease across a large range of sites.
